The Wrap Up Report.

A follow up from Ket via Paris.

E,

Here's a short report from Paris:

On Saturday the 20th at Le Cigalle in Paris The Millon and Coronette St Cyr
auction houses with my assistance held their first graffiti and street art
auction. The event, held at the famous theater, was witnessed by a full house of
attendees both art collectors and artists alike. The catalog sold out before the
day of the auction which was a good early indicator of what was to come. On
auction night the art work sold briskly. Over 90% of the art was sold which
means that over 200 pieces of art are entering into new homes and new
collector's hands. The grouping that I was responsible for organizing and
presenting was the New York artists and that sold better than 95% with artists
like Carlos "Mare 139" Rodriguez, Ewok One, Fuzz One, Iz the Wiz, Kel 1st, Wane,
and T-Kid 170 selling all the pieces they put up for sale. For many of the
artists their sales fetched what might be considered record numbers for their
works. All in all Paris is still the place to be if you are a collector or if
you are selling art. The French have a deep appreciation for art and for this
art form and support it with enthusiasm and money. Look for the next auction
sometime in November, if you slept and didn't buy some great art last weekend
you will have another chance.

Thanks Ket.
